DRIVING DIRECTIONS

USE GOOGLE MAPS FOR TURN-BY TURN DIRECTIONS (RECOMMENDED)

ROUTE(S) FROM LIR (Daniel Oduber Liberia Airport) TO PLAYA GRANDE

  • Not Recommended (unpaved): Highway 21→ Route 151 → 911

    • Route 911—famously known as the "Monkey Trail"—is a rugged mountain pass. Only use this in dry season with 4×4.​​

  • Recommended Route (paved): Highway 21 → Route 155 → Huacas → Matapalo → Playa Grande

    • This route is fully paved and good for all vehicles. (drive time from LIR: 90 minutes)​

  • Final Turn & Approach (Playa Grande)

    • At the Hotel Las Tortugas junction, turn right

    • Continue ~0.5 km.

    • Villas will be on the left near the end of the road

    • Pull into the gated driveway and park inside the gate.

  • Offline Directions (Cell service is generally reliable along the recommended route)

    • Follow signs: Huacas → Matapalo → Playa Grande → Hotel Las Tortugas, then use the Final Approach above

ARRIVAL TIPS                                                                                         ​

  • If arriving after dark, drive slowly on the final approach

  • Keep your co-host updated on any itinerary changes

  • For assitance message us through the booking platform. 

  • Stop in Tamarindo (10 min before Playa Grande) for groceries. There's an AutoMercado supermarket on the main road.
