ABOUT PLAYA GRANDE

Our unspoiled location is truly one of the most unique vacation spots in Costa Rica. Playa Grande “big beach” is a 2 mile-long crescent forming the Las Baulas Marine National Park, a sanctuary for the nesting giant leatherback turtle, as well as the Tamarindo Wildlife National Refuge. An important mangrove estuary with an abundance of flora and fauna.

The warm blue waters and honey colored sand of Playa Grande's coastline offers more open space and privacy than any other beachfront community along the Pacific. This beach has been awarded the coveted Bandera Azul Ecológica (Blue Flag) yearly since its creation. The Blue Flag is an environmental award, given for maintaining water and coastal quality, as well as a pristine environment.

A key advantage of Playa Grande is it's small but lively neighborhood community, and for those desiring a high paced partying  town Playa Tamarindo is only 20 min. away. Here you will find a variety of restaurants/bars, surf shops, spa services, yoga classes and adventure tours.  For all this, PG is the perfect laid-back beach location.
